Roles are the basic gist of your character’s place in society. Whether you are a civilian who sells illegal goods or a student who is trying to become the next Beastar. The basic roles cover a general guideline of who your character is and what they are trying to accomplish. Most adult roles fall under Citizen with Police and Mafia being more specific, though the only age locked role is Police which requires you to have a high school diploma and a clean criminal record.
On top of the standard roles, there are a handful of special roles that you can specifically aim to become. These special roles usually have a specific set of requirements that need to be met in order to become them. Special requirements can range from having certain level skills to fulfilling special plot points. Certain special roles can only be attained through a Role Claim. Role Claims are a way to acquire certain special roles sooner without having to go through the hassle of leveling up a character to get to them. Role Claims require at the minimum a paragraph of writing to show us an example of your writing capabilities. This is to make sure that Role Claims go to people who have the highest chance of making the most of them. Don’t let this discourage you though and go for it! The worst that can happen is we say no.
Student: Whether you go to Cherryton or one of the less prestigious schools, you are the future of the Nomivore world and you are preparing to take your place in society. Herbivores and Carnivores of all ages are learning to get along and do their best to keep a neutral stance in the world. Delinquents are often sent to alternative schools with heavily enforced security and segregated flooring to prevent violent outbursts. Some schools are specifically built to house violent Carnivore students and rehabilitate them before re-releasing them to society. Hybrids are often shunned by more prominent schools and rendered to going to the less prestigious classes or forced into attending alternative schools at an early age. Whatever life you are forced into you are going to be a future Citizen of the Nomivore world and you are taking the first steps towards your future and the future of Nomivores as a whole. Citizen: As a Citizen, you are nothing more than a pawn of society who follows whatever way their road is taking them. You may own a store that operates in selling herbs and spices or you may be an illegal back-alley store that deals in the bodies of dead rabbits but either way you are a citizen of the same world. At this point, you may be furthering your skills and becoming a pundit of your craft or you may just want to settle down and have a kid to take on the family business down the line. Whatever it is that you hope to accomplish with this life of yours, this is your chance to do it. On the contrary, some citizens aren’t adults but dropouts from school who didn’t manage to finish their coursing due to unknown circumstances. This is your time to shine so make it count and do your best to survive. (Starts with an Amateur skill and a Layman skill)
Police: As a member of the police department it is your task to keep justice in this feral land. Despite what you would originally think this job is often more tasked for Herbivores than Carnivores. Whether this is because of their non-threatening appearance or because of their will to protect each other is up to the person but whatever the cause they will do whatever it takes to serve and protect. You often have access to records of most Herbivores and Carnivores and will have no trouble looking up your criminal records and or your familial history. It is often up to you to decide what is classified as justice and it is your difficult job of dealing with the untamed Carnivores and the unhinged Herbivores that threaten the day to day life of your civilians. Mafia: As a member of the mafia you are the only line of defense that the Back-Alley Market has. Whether you do it to extort the shops for your own benefit or because you have some deep ties to the market itself is up to you but one thing is for certain the Market is your home and you aren’t going to let it fall to ruins. It is often up to you to deal with psychos who attempt to tear apart the market itself. Most mafias are divided up by the most powerful species but every so often a random Nomivore will invade some of the biggest crime organizations. You live a high life but it is filled with peril but maybe that life chose you? (Starts with two Amateur skills)
Beastar Candidate: Each school in the Nomivore world gets the chance to nominate one of its students for the prestigious role of Beastar. This is the first step towards becoming an animal that all the world will look to for guidance. Only students with high marks and a renown sense for balance between Herbivores and Carnivores has a chance at becoming the Beastars. The selection method is unique between schools but it usually comes down to intellectual prowess and social aptitude. Not all Beastar Candidates make it that far, but the ones that do stand a chance at changing the world as we know it and making a place for themselves as the Beastar and rising through the social ranks with exceeding ease. The Beastar from each school is selected by the Principal of each school and is up to their judgment alone to decide who fits to stand a chance at attaining the role of Beastar. Beastar: The dream and desire of most students. It is your role as Beastar to unite both Carnivores and Herbivores in a peaceful coalition that will stand the test of time. Each school in the world will propose one of their students for the role of Beastars and they will stand as a pillar in society, quickly moving up the social ladder and becoming a major political figure in no time. However, that is just the dream of the role, in reality, you can use this role for whatever you wish it for. As intended it is meant for students of incredibly high social and academic achievement, but in reality, it is a role that can be acquired through crime-fighting and even illicit means. It is an incredibly difficult role to receive and those who get it will stand the test of time as one of the most important figures in the Nomivore world. Mayor: As a Mayor, you keep the thin veil of peace alive in your town with all means at your disposal. It may not be easy keeping on the false smile you always wear but someone has to do it. You are the one who truly understands the importance of the Back-Alley Market and it is your job to make sure that the peace established through it is not easily shattered. You may find yourself bending to the will of the mafia and having to let them get away with dark acts but its all for society right? The Mayor isn’t a role for those of a pure heart and it isn’t for those with a heart of shadow it is a truly neutral role for those who are ready to accept the darkness of this world. Teacher: You are the one who is responsible for making sure that your students understand the importance of the balance between Herbivores and Carnivores. Students look to their teachers for social and educational guidance and every word you speak will lead them down a road that they might not be able to turn back on. Those with education degrees have more important reasons then just money for their choice and most have a deep love for the youth of society or they think they can do better than the teachers who taught them growing up. Whatever their reason they are important and will help lead the next generation of Nomivores. Some schools have stricter teaching requirements than others but most often a college degree is required and you must prove that you are a well-versed individual who is capable of teaching a large group. Don’t let that scare you away but make sure you understand the weight of this role. [1 PROFESSIONAL LEVEL TEACHING SKILL or 1 PROFESSIONAL LEVEL SUBJECT SKILL]
Principal: Even more weighty is the role of Principal who not only stands as the pinnacle of his school and the main driving force for his students but is also in charge of one of the most important paths in his school: the choosing of the Beastar. You will find yourself thrust into some of the most important political decisions for society as a Principal and it is up to you to find out who deserves the right of having a chance of becoming a Beastar and if you don’t propose one you might find yourself in the face of a lot of backlash. Keep your mind straight and your gaze narrow as you try to find the path that your students should follow as well as for a student that could stand a chance at becoming the face of the very Nomivore world. Mafia Boss: You are one of the heads behind the Back-Alley Market. It is your presence that keeps the peace in this dark and depraved society and it is you and the other Mafia Bosses who truly understand what it means to not turn back to the light. You often lead a group of animals of the same species as yourself and you fight not against the darkness of the Back-Alley Market but also against other mafias as you try to prove your dominance. This is a role for those who are truly dark and twisted and understand that society is grey so why not make a little profit off of it? [2 PROFESSIONAL LEVEL SKILLS and AT LEAST 4 FOLLOWERS]
